This year LG clearly improve on what the G3 is doing best, which is the overall user experience. The new G4 might not have the most powerful specs / benchmark in the market today, but undeniably it is the most appealing.

Here's the summary why?

The grand stage at Solaire Theater!
1. Everything is awesome - the design, build, look and feel, LG definitely nailed it with the G4. I loved the metallic design and the leather type. Yes, the G3 was extremely solid, but the G4 is even more amazing.

2. Might be the best display on a phone you can see - with the use of the slightly curved new Quantum QHD display. LG undeniably improved on the QHD display of the G3. The panels are now slimmer, lighter, can give you thinner bezels, brighter, more accurate color reproduction and the better power efficiency.

3. The closest smartphone to a professional grade camera - even some photo purist will might love this! It has the smallest aperture for a phone at f/1.8 and has a bigger sensor at 1/2.6. Aside from all the DSLR like features of the camera like the manual mode, OIS, laser autofocus and raw photo format.

4. Refinement of the G3 - As most of us will agree, the G3 is the best phone in the world when it was released last year. With the G4, LG improved on the overall features of the phone like battery, style, build, display, camera and etc.

5. The UI - LG has one of the nicest looking UI I've seen recently together with Meizu. It's now simpler to use, smarter, faster and can let you organize your phone the way you like it for better productivity. LG made significant changes here like easier multitasking to name a few.

Hands on

After the launched, I was very excited to rush to the demo area to have a quick hold the phone and it didn't disappoint. LG's advertisement with the G4 seems to be very accurate.

The leather used here feels great to hold and appears to be made out of high quality!
Yes, it's not the high-end type of leather, but for a phone priced like this it's more than what I expected. I'm sure most of those who'll see this in person will love it.

This is the non-leather version that could appeal those who wanted to put a case to their phones. The metallic finish don't look that fancy compared to the leather one, but it also feels good to hold and doesn't slip to my hands easily. Besides, this type of material won't chip off unless you apply force. By the way the buttons are still at the back ala G2 & G3!
It's one of the smallest 5.5 Inch and probably the best looking display I've seen in person putting other flagships to shame! The colors were looking unreal good and it's the type of brightness that's won't strain the sensitive eyes of some. I just hope that like what they advertised, it won't be a big battery eater.

Here comes the side showing the curves of the phone.

Sample Photos

Bokeh shot!
This is arguable the best phone camera in the world. Even at just using the auto setting, It was able to capture a bokeh shot extremely well with outstanding details in a snap. As expected, the shutter speed and focus is the fastest I've tried. The color reproduction is also extremely accurate as the subject really look that way in person. If given a chance, I would love to further test the performance of the camera if given a chance.

Selfie with Irwin and Jan!
The G4's 8 MP selfie camera is splendid! It actually made us all want to take the device home. LOL! :) The shutter speed is extremely fast, the laser auto focus was accurate and the details are amazing!

G4's Antutu Benchmark
The benchmark isn't jaw dropping, but honestly right now as long as your benchmark score reached the 40K mark it's amazingly good already. Besides, LG clearly improved on the other important aspects of the phone. Like I always specs, the phone experience isn't always determined by benchmarks. You have to feel it first and I loved what I had with my quick G4 experience.

What I missed to check due to the time limit...

1. Audio Quality
2. Where's the Quadbeat 3?
3. Complete phone performance

I know some of you might say that I'm giving too much praise to the G4, but to my eyes LG
undoubtedly deserves it. It's also not as expensive compared to the other flagships that was released recently. With that, I must say that from what I've seen live that the LG G4 is the phone to beat right now.
