World Professional Billiard League (WPBL) organized an all-star charity match for the benefit of the victims of Super Typhoon Yolanda "Haiyan" in the Philippines. The event will be held at WPBL stadium, Las Vegas  on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2014 at 6:30pm.

Team Philippines will be represented by our best players namely Warren Kiamco, Dennis Orcullo and Carlo Biado while WPBL All Stars team is formed by Thorsten Hohmann, Darren Appleton and John Morra.

Isn't it exciting?

The Game

The Players will be playing the new game played at WPBL called the "Bonus Ball".
"Bonus Ball is played with nine billiard balls: four purple, four orange, and one black Bonus Ball. The objective of the game is to reach 30 points by pocketing balls. Each legally pocketed purple ball is worth one point, orange two points, and the Bonus Ball three points. Pocketing all three in order is called a "sequence". A player will continue their visit at the table until they fail to legally pocket a ball, or commit a foul. If a player fails to pocket the Bonus Ball on their turn, during their next visit to the table they will restart the sequence at purple. After the final orange ball is pocketed leaving only the Bonus Ball, the purple and orange balls are re-racked, and the active player must perform a re-break. The game is played until a player reaches 30 points or the 15 minute game clock expires. Failure to reach 30 points within regulation time will result in a shootout." - WPBLTV.com

Pretty interesting since it's a new game and I don't know how will Team Philippines will perform since they're not yet that familiar with this game. Yet they're ranked at the very top of the World so I'm guessing that they'll figure it out quickly.

MEET THE PLAYERS

Team Philippines

Consist of 3 world rank players headlined by the recent Derby Classic Champion and Former World's number 1 Dennis Orcullo, World's number 3 ranked Carlo Biado and WBPL's top player Warren Kiamco. Now this is a solid line-up! Not a one you'd like to mess with especially in money games.

Dennis "Robocop" / "Money Ball King" Orcullo

Dennis Orcullo is the Money Ball King of the Philippines and the New Face of the from the World Billiards Power House Philippines representing Bugsy Promotions. He was once the top player in the world and is looking to recapture that title this 2014. He was on the right track as he won the recent Derby Classic by beating a hall of fame legend in Francisco Bustamante. As of my writing he just won the 1st Master of the Table Crown.

Team WPBL

Is headlined by Darren Appleton, John Morra and Thorsten Hohmann as they we're the best of the best from WPBL last season. Expect them to give Team Philippines a tough time as they we're used to playing Bonus Ball unlike their Pinoy counterparts. It's a war!
