ZTE Blade Vec 4G Unboxing And Initial Impressions

Exactly a week ago, we told you that the newest member of the Blade Vec Series called the ZTE Blade Vec 4G has landed in our country. Now, we were able to secure a unit from ZTE and I'm going to share with you my unboxing and initial impressions of the handset. Watch out for my full review in the coming days. Getting excited? Just unboxed!

Just to give you a quick introduction, the ZTE Blade Vec 4G is an affordable mid-range 4G smartphone that sports a 5-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor. It features 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of expandable memory, 8MP rear camera, 1 MP front camera, 2300 mAh battery capacity, LTE connectivity and Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS.

Build Quality

Front View of ZTE Blade Vec 4G

The design and build of the phone is very sleek. The body has a sexy jet black color effect and is made of good quality plastic. Due to its color, it was hard for me to capture the small details of the handset, at first.

The smartphone has a thin (but not so thin) side bezels, measuring around 4mm each. The bottom bezel is slightly thinner than other phones- probably because of its on-screen soft keys implementation rather than usual capacitive.

The back of the Blade Vec 4G has a carbon fiber-like design which gave it a classy feel and look. It is where you will find the rear camera (obviously) that comes with an LED flash. The battery is non-removable, so don't expect it to have a back cover.

The edges of the phone are not sharp and the 4 corners are slightly rounded. On the top edge is where the microUSB port is located while the bottom edge is where you will find the 3.5 mm audio jack

On the left side of the phone is where you will find a small tray (SIM card slot) that can be ejected using the supplied micro SIM ejector tool.

All the controls such as the volume rocker and the power button are located at the right edge of the phone.
