Here is the hands-on and first impressions of the Cherry Mobile G1 as promised, this is what we're all waiting for from the Cherry Mobile's sweet gadget treat. Cherry Mobile has just recently announced and gave the media a preview of the phone itself for us to try out. So what's in with this Google A.K.A. Android One phone release?

Cherry Mobile G1 Hands-on & First Impressions
First Impressions of the Cherry Mobile G1
Backside of the Cherry Mobile G1
Okay, when first I saw the phone itself, it reminded me of the build of the Nexus phones which in this case it resembles the Nexus 5 especially the black matte finish at the back the difference is the logos and the curvy design. This looks more a overall upgrade of the first phone they released last year, the G1 looks very promising for its price and specs.

The screen is 5-inch IPS display with Oncell Technology @ 1280 x 720 resolution in which the pictures and graphics looks real good to see. Just by the screen resolution, you can see clear and crisp images in the screen.

The 13 Mega-pixel rear camera with dual LED flash at the center of the G1
The back is a soft matte black that feels good to touch and less slippery on the hand. The bezels of the phone is okay, it's not too thin and yet not too big either. The G1 is quite slim just between the perfect balance for gripping the phone. It's impressing that they've included a 13MP rear camera with this one, along with a dual LED flash - a feature that is starting to be a standard for phones today.

Right side of the phone
The physical power button and the volume rocker buttons are found in the upper right portion of the phone and feels easy to push / click for power and volume.

The bottom view
The bottom contains the micro-USB port for charging / data transfer as well as the speaker grille.

The top view
In the top side, is where the 3.5mm audio jack is located.

It's out of the box Android Lollipop 5.1.1
The Cherry Mobile G1 is already an out of the box Android Lollipop 5.1.1 operating system in which is the latest version of Android and it is guaranteed to receive additional 2 years of OS updates by Google itself like the Nexus phones.

Cherry Mobile with the stock Android UI experience is fast & smooth to use
The Cherry Mobile G1 with the Lollipop OS is fast and smooth to use. During my test, I did experience any lags or crashes (though I'm only using the pre-installed apps from Google, so I need to test it out one I receive the review unit from Cherry Mobile before finally concluding for the overall performance).

That's it for now, we need to test the benchmark performance, camera quality, battery, network and overall performance.
