Along with the iPad Air 2, Apple also announced the iPad Mini 3 very quickly during its event earlier. The 7.9-inch tablet retains the form and shape of the iPad Mini with Retina display (that was released last year) and adds the Touch ID fingerprint sensor, a feature that first debuted on iPhone 5s. Aside from this, the specs of the iPad Mini is nearly identical to its predecessor. Unexpectedly, the tablet does not run on the new A8X processor (unlike the iPad Air 2).
