MyPhone Rio 2 Lite is the not so baby brother of the new MyPhone Rio 2. It packs a similar quad core processor, 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of expandable ROM to the bigger Rio  2. The main differences of those phones are in the battery capacity, camera and screen size.

Meet Rio 2 Lite

During the event yesterday, we were fortunate enough to play with the new Rio 2 Lite for a bit to share with your our quick hands on experience with it.

Most of us loved what we saw with the Rio 2 and the Rio 2 Lite. The build quality is identical and they're made out of good and lightweight materials. I also liked the form factor of this phone as it is very easy to hold and the it wont easily fall from your hands due to the matte design of the back cover that can help you have a better grip. Overall and as usual, MyPhone devices really have good durable aesthetics.

Display

When it comes to the display, the MyPhone Rio 2 Lite uses a 4.7 inches WVGA IPS display that's good enough for most. The details were quite fine, respectable and has good colors. However, it lags by a mile compared to the awesome display of the MyPhone Rio 2.

Camera

The rear camera of this phone packs an 8 MP Samsung rear camera. Due to the limited time I had with it I didn't notice that the shot I took was blurry. Fortunately, in the real world situation. The rear camera of this phone performs way  better than the photo shown above. (I'll be updating this article soon) Then the front camera was wide angled and performed nicely too considering that the lighting at the Green Sun hotel yesterday was quite dim.

Antutu Benchmark

It scored a thousand more higher than the pricier Rio 2, that's due to the lower resolution of its display. This might be very good for those who wanted a faster gaming experience.

As of the moment...

The 2nd generation of the Rio Lite is definitely better than the old one and should be capable enough to handle your daily smartphone need. I believe that this is also one of the very few local branded phones to have Android 5.0 Lollipop on board. So if you have limited budget and you want a slightly speedier MyPhone Rio with smaller hands and experience the sweetness of Android 5.0 Lollipop then go for this. However, if you wanted a display that's on a different level, better rear and front camera and bigger a battery capacity, then go for the bit pricier MyPhone Rio.
