Interbrand released its annual list of world's top 100 most valuable companies in the world, with Apple on the top spot. Based from last year's figures, Apple is up by 21% valued at $11.8 billion. Google got the second spot with the valuation of $107.4 billion (up by 15% based from last year's value). Coca-cola placed 3rd at $81 billion value while IBM ranked 4th at $72 billion value. 


Other big names in the wireless industry that made their way to the top ten are Microsoft and Samsung. Microsoft placed 5th rank with  $61.2 billion value, and Samsung ranked 7th place at $45.5 billion value. 

According to Interbrand, the following factors are the basis of their evaluation:

  • The financial performance of the branded product and service
  • The role the brand plays in influencing customer choice
  • The strength the brand has to command a premium price or secure earnings for the company
