The Pokemon GO Development Team has officially announced a new upcoming feature to the game via their website which will bring a different type of experience for players soon.
The new feature is called the Buddy Pokemon in which players can pick their favorite Pokemon in their collection to become their buddy, providing in-game rewards and experiences which is very nice since its a bit hard and long to level up in the game.
The Buddy Pokemon will appear alongside of your Trainer avatar just beside the profile photo, thus it will reward helpful bonuses like candy just by walking together. This just means that you would not much need to collect same Pokemon over and over just to evolve your favorite Pokemon. Players can also have an ability to change the Buddy Pokemon anytime.
There's no announcement of the release date of the update yet, but it will be coming soon.
