Google Philippines officially launches today its all year-long social media campaign called the #LovePhilippines which is in time for the National Heroes Day. The main goal of the campaign is to inspire Filipinos to discover the culture and fuel their love for the country.

#LovePhilippines - Jose Rizal eating minatamis na santol

Google Philippines will start to post #LovePhilippines content to their social media accounts in order to put spotlight on the heritage of Filipinos. The posts will highlight moments of triumph in history, interesting stories behind acclaimed Finipinos and achivements, trivia on unique Filipino norms and different surprise gems in the country that will be shown on different Google Products like Search, YouTube, Street View and other materials from the Google Cultural Institute.

The campaign kicks off by featuring a post where Jose Rizal is eating a unique pinoy dessert which is his personal favorite - "minatamis na santol". Aside from learning something from our national hero, Filipinos can also prepare the treat by watching a video tutorial from YouTube.

The said campaign also encourages Filipinos to share the pride and love for the country via social media channels and introduce best aspects in the Philippines especially to non-Filipinos so they can too appreciate our culture more.

As part of Google’s commitment to equip Filipinos with information that are relevant to their lives, Google put together the campaign to show netizens that there are easily accessible materials online that they can use to boost the morale of fellow Filipinos and inspire others to take pride on the many remarkable characteristics of the Philippines.

“We hear things said about the Philippines or the Filipinos, but there are plenty of beautiful facts about us that are easily searchable online. We want to bring out these information so that people will be inspired to show the world that the Philippines is a fast developing country with a rich history and colorful culture. Filipinos are innately inspiring, and we look forward to spreading more love for the Philippines in the days to come,” said Gail Tan, Google Philippines Head of Communications and Public Affairs.
