Sony just released the latest generation of the point and shoot mastery of the RX100 series, called the RX100 IV. The RX100 IV is a very small camera that has almost the shooting capability of a DSLR shooter.
Is this the best point and shoot camera in the world?
Only time will tell, I'd like to see this do a shootout between the likes of Fuji, Leica, Canon, Nikon and etc. With that type of technology Sony incorporated with this, I'm optimistic that this camera is going to give the competition and even entry to mid level DSLR camera a run to their money. It used a first 1 inch Exmor RS CMOS sensor w/ 21 MP, f/1.8 24 - 70mm lens, advanced signal processing, DRAM attached, 1/32,000 shutter speed, 480 frames per second (HD), 240 frames per second (FHD), 5 mins 4K video recording capability and a high speed burst shot.
Connectivity-wise it has WiFi and NFC that you can use. This unit is priced at USD 1000 which is quite low for what it's offering at a very compact size.
