There are so many new things to try out this summer, but instead of signing up for a one-time workshop of something that won't ever do again, why night commit to an activity that can both be fun and healthy for you, such as like boxing?

In the recent years, boxing has gained a great deal of local following. Many boxing gyms have opened throughout the country, but probably the most popular go-to place for a few mitt sessions is the Elorde Boxing Gym, which is aptly named after boxing hero Gabriel "Flash" Elorde.

Even celebrities are getting on this legit fitness bandwagon: swearing by the benefits of boxing, Luis Alandy, Jake Cuenca, Michelle Madrigal, Marco Alcaraz, and Director Don Zapata have opened their own Elorde Boxing Gym branch in The Gatorade Hoops Center in Wack Wack, Mandaluyong.

The Wack Wack gym is skewed to be the high-end branch of the famous boxing franchise, moving beyond the regular mat-and-ring setting to become a lifestyle center. Aside from boxing, it also features other workouts such as TRX suspension training and High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT).

One of the things that sets Elorde Wack Wack apart is that it's the first gyms to utilize biometrics. This saves you the trouble of carrying around a membership card and having it replaced it when it accidentally gets lost. It's also an added layer of security for members and personnel alike. According to the proprietors, other branches will follow suit, and avid gym goers from other locales will be able to enjoy the automation very soon.

Elorde Wack Wack is open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. from Monday to Sunday. You can visit them on Facebook for more information on classes and rates.
