Chief organizer Amatov Canlas of Fencing Masters Philippines (FMP) explained, “We are excited to stage this age-group international fencing tourney, and are thankful for the support of our foreign guests who are coming to participate. We envision to make this an annual event, as it gives much-needed exposure to our local fencers and will help determine who will be the ‘next generation’ national-team caliber players.”

The event is sanctioned by the Philippine Fencing Association (PFA), with current president Richard Gomez expressing his full support for this initiative in promoting fencing; and sponsored by Akari Lighting Systems, BENCH apparel, Chikka.com, Fruits in Ice Cream and equipment supplier Vicious Brainiac Fencing.
